I am Dr. Sana Younus, a double board‑certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist dedicated to helping individuals and families across Texas find clarity when mental health symptoms feel confusing, overlapping, or difficult to understand. I specialize in diagnostic clarification, comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, and thoughtful, evidence‑based medication management for patients who may not have found the answers or improvement they hoped for in prior treatments.

Thoughtful, Collaborative Management

While my clinical work often involves medication management, I believe treatment is never just about medications. My approach integrates psycho- therapeutic strategies into every phase of care. I start with a comprehensive intake process that includes a detailed psychiatric interview, standardized assessments as needed, and when appropriate and with consent, collateral information from caregivers, schools etc. My goal is to understand each person in the context of their full story—not just a diagnosis—so that we can build a personalized, collaborative plan that may include medication, therapy referrals, lifestyle changes, or other supportive interventions.

I work with individuals facing a wide range of concerns, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, grief, family and relationship challenges, college/early adulthood transitions, gender identity exploration, sexual orientation conflicts, and career changes.

Care Tailored to Children, Adolescents & Adults

In my work with children and adolescents, I actively engage families, recognizing that a young person’s environment and relationships play a vital role in their mental health. I aim to support not only the individual child but the entire family system. In my work with adults, I pay close attention to the influence of life context, stressors, and identity. While we may not be able to change the world around us, we can gain insight into ourselves, develop coping strategies, and find more intentional ways to navigate life. My work is grounded in reflection, curiosity, and respect for each person’s inner experience.

Culturally Responsive, Trauma‑Informed Psychiatric Care

Across all areas of my work, I remain deeply committed to cultural humility and an awareness of intersectionality—the ways in which overlapping identities, lived experiences, and systems of privilege or oppression shape mental health. I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse racial, cultural, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds including those with diverse sexual orientations and gender identities.

I recognize that care must be responsive to the complexities of identity—both visible and unseen. I strive to create a space that is inclusive, trauma-informed, nonjudgmental, and free from discrimination and bias where people, can reflect, explore, and make thoughtful decisions about care with a sense of safety and agency.
